Digital Media

Our digital media interns receive hands-on training and experience in digital video production, editing, and new media marketing. Using state-of-the-art production equipment from professionally standard companies like Panasonic, Canon, and Audio Technica among others, our interns work in comprehensive teams to concept and create videos as well as social media advertisements for clients both internal and external. In return, our interns gain valuable skills in marketing, outreach, professional conduct and technological literacy. By the conclusion of the program, PELabs graduates have the necessary skills to step into the modern and lucrative world of media production.

Often by PELabs' conclusion their self-confidence has increased to the point that some of them are barely recognizable as the shy teenagers they were at the outset. At PELabs, unlike in high school, young people are given the opportunity to be truly self-sufficient, working on projects and developing skills in a self-motivated manner with little guidance from the instructors. Once the basic abilities have been learned, and they have become proficient with the equipment, production becomes entirely the interns' show."

My name is Alma Velez. I live in Hartford, CT and I am part of the 2021 graduating class at Pathways Academy of Technology & Design. I chose to be part of the PELabs community because I wanted to enhance my technical skills and learn what it means to be professional. I am a Digital Media intern and I enjoy filming and taking pictures. I want to improve my editing skills so the quality of my work is impressive to the customers and employers in the future.

Dzenita Guster

My name is Dzenita Guster. I live in Hartford, CT and I am currently part of the 2020 graduating class at Pathways Academy of Technology and Design. I chose to be an intern at PELabs because I wanted to further my knowledge with filming and editing. I am part of the digital media department and hope to improve my editing and recording skills.

Garviland Jules

My name is Garviland Jules. I'm from Haiti, and I now live in Hartford Connecticut. I'm currently part of 2020 graduating class at Weaver. Three words that describe my self are Funny, Outgoing, and Hard worker. My habits are playing soccer, riding my bicycle, and going to the gym.

My name is Heaven. I live in Hartford, CT and I am currently in the 10th grade at Pathways Academy of Technology and design. My main goal at the end of this internship here at PeLabs was to gain new experience, talking to others professionally, expand my skills in digital media and gain important relationships with others.

My name is Omayra Robledo. I live in Hartford, CT and I am graduating in the class of 2021 at Pathways Academy of Technology and Design. I chose to be an intern at PELabs because I wanted to gain more experience based on the digital media field and expand my learning on new things. My name is Regina Malendo. I was born in Tanzania, I live in Hartford, CT and I am currently part of the 2021 graduating class at Hartford Public High School. I chose to be an intern at PElabs because I want to learn new thing from different people and have more experience about what I am going to do in the future. Shemar Parkin

My name is Shemar Parkin. I was born and raised in Jamaica for 14 years. I am graduate from Weaver High School. Three adjectives to describe myself is funny, hardworking and helpful. My hobbies are playing soccer and sleeping. I chose to be an intern at PELabs because I want to have more experience in editing. My future job is to be a producer and I want to make sure I have all the information and technique I need.

Susu Win

My name is SuSu Win. I live in Hartford, CT and I am part of the internship here at Pathways Academy of technology and design in PELabs. I choose to be an intern at PELabs because the experience that I have in PELabs will later on help me with life. Viveca Garcia

My name is Viveca Garcia. I live in East Hartford, CT and I am a 2019 Pelabs Intern. I go to Pathways Academy of Technology and Design, Class of 2022. My Digital Media teacher recommended me for Pelabs because she saw that I worked real well with programs like "Final Cut Pro" and "Photoshop", so that is the reason why I chose this internship and also to have an experience to work in another place other than school. For my first year of Pelabs I am part of the Digital Media department and hope to learn more things about cameras and editing videos with the programs we use.
